Storm Debris Pick-Up- Updated
Posted on 02/05/2025
Updated February 5, 2024: Fletcher Town Council Assists with Post-Hurricane Debris Cleanup
The Fletcher Town Council is working with Henderson County to assist in the cleanup of brush and debris following Hurricane Helene. Our Public Works team will be visiting every street to collect debris piles that fall within our normal pickup guidelines. Please note that large logs, stumps, and other oversized items are not included in this service.
For any debris we cannot collect, our team will document and report it to Henderson County for further action. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore our community.
Prior Information:
The county is working with SDR (Southern Disaster Recovery) to pick up all storm debris on DOT, municipal, and private roads. The debris removal will also cover industrial, commercial, and residential debris as long as it is placed in the right of way.
Any questions or concerns need to be directed to the County- (828) 771-6670 or emailed to helene-info@hcem.org.
This is a county-wide effort and SDR will be moving through all communities but no set schedule has been given. SDR will make multiple trips to the same area as they work to remove all the debris, so don’t panic if they miss you.
Storm debris that is pushed to the right of way of a property will be picked up. Storm debris includes tree branches, leaves, logs, building materials, furniture, paint, etc.
Please separate household garbage, construction debris, vegetative debris, large appliances, electronics, and hazardous waste to expedite the removal process. There is no need to take storm debris to the Transfer Station. The best way to remove debris is to place it on your curb.

Please be patient. Debris will be up picked by us as soon as possible.
