Inaugural Mayor’s Friend of Fletcher Award

On March 4, 2020 Mayor Rod Whiteside presented Doug Arney the inaugural Friend of Fletcher Award.

The Friend of Fletcher Award is for a Fletcher resident who, in 2019, embodied the amazing spirit that represents Fletcher.  The individual who excelled in personal accomplishments, volunteerism, business or other meaningful service.

Doug Arney was nominated by Jack, Grace, Maggie and Erik Weber.  Here is a quote from their nomination letter:

Whether it is helping unload pumpkins at Fletcher United Methodist Church, assisting at the local food pantry, using his tractor to cut a neighbor’s yard, helping pull someone out of the mud, or simply saying yes even before someone ever had to ask, Doug goes above and beyond on a daily basis!
