About Appalachian Fire:
Appalacian Fire is a Western North Carolina based band that has been making acoustic music for over a decade. Having begun as a jam band with bandleader Dwayne “Doc” Durham and co founder Cliff Searcy, the band has evolved into a tight-knit five piece acoustic ensemble. Currently the band consists of Doc on the guitar, Cliff on mandolin and dobro, Jim Fox on bass, Tim “Pappy” Francis on banjo, and Bill McDonald on fiddle. The group prides itself in close harmony, smooth instrumentation, original songwriting, and a flair for entertainment. They play nearly 60 shows a year in the Carolinas. The band brings high energy picking, tight harmony, and great entertainment value for the whole family. Each show brings a mixture of bluegrass standards, originals, instrumentals and bluegrass gospel.
